Meters are tools. The test is the product. These are the instruments we put in front of products that claim to block EMF — what each one measures, the frequencies it covers, and why numbers from different meters can't be compared head-to-head.
EMF meters differ in the frequency bands they cover, how they capture peaks versus averages, and how they're calibrated. Point two different meters at the same Wi-Fi router and you'll often get two different numbers — both correct for that instrument. That's why every record in our database names the meter it was measured with, and why we don't mix readings from different meters into a single comparison.

Budget rechargeable 3-in-1 that reads all three fields at once — popular with hobbyists and for quick home checks. RF 0.01–300 mW/m², magnetic 0.1–999.99 mG, electric 1–1999 V/m. An entry-level detector rather than a lab instrument, so treat its numbers as indicative.

The widest RF reach in the home tier: power density readings up to 10 GHz, so it still sees Wi-Fi 6E and high-band 5G that sit above where most home meters stop. RF 0.02–9999 mW/m², magnetic 0–500 mG across three axes, electric 0–1000 V/m. Adds flash data logging and an RF spectrum analyzer, though the analyzer's own bands top out around 2.5 GHz. Busiest interface of the home meters.
RangeRF 200 MHz–8 GHz
A non-numeric RF detector for on-camera checks only. Color-coded LEDs and a sound signature answer “is there RF?” — we never publish a number from this meter. RF / microwave only: no magnetic or electric.
Professional instruments exist. We don't use them for published product tests.
